Warehouse Markings & Epoxy FAQ

Does OSHA require warehouse floor markings?

OSHA requires aisles and passageways to be kept clear and marked where it matters for safety, but it does not prescribe a single color scheme or line width for your facility. That is why the marking plan matters as much as the paint. Our warehouse floor striping guide covers what OSHA requires and what it leaves to the employer.

What do the ANSI floor marking colors mean?

ANSI Z535.1 sets the standard color meanings for facility markings: aisles, physical hazards, fire protection and safety equipment each have assigned colors so anyone walking the floor reads them the same way. Our warehouse floor striping guide breaks down the palette and where each color belongs.

Paint, thermoplastic or epoxy: which is best for a warehouse floor?

It depends on traffic and environment. Paint is the lowest cost and needs the most frequent restriping where forklifts run. Thermoplastic and epoxy are more abrasion- and chemical-resistant for heavy-traffic lanes. Our guide compares all three on durability, cure time and cost.

How often do warehouse floor lines need to be restriped?

Usually driven by forklift traffic and chemical exposure in the highest-use lanes rather than by a fixed calendar. Many facilities restripe specific zones annually and full floors on a longer cycle. We can walk the floor and mark which zones are actually wearing.

Do you install epoxy flooring as well as markings?

Yes. Anderson Striping installs epoxy floor systems and industrial floor markings for warehouses, plants and logistics facilities, including game courts, which use the same coating systems.
